Simple Pound Cake and Berries Dessert

After you’ve spent so much time and energy getting a fantastic dinner ready, the last thing we want to do is spend even more time and effort making a dessert from scratch. But, don’t tell our guests that!

I use store bought pound cake, whatever berries are in season and whipped cream out of the can. It looks like you spent hours getting it ready,

Ingredients:

  • 1 Pint of fresh strawberries
  • 2-3 Tablespoons sugar
  • 1 Small package of blackberries or raspberries
  • 1 Pint of fresh blueberries
  • 1 Store bought pound cake
  • 1 Can real dairy whipped cream

Optional Additions:

  • Mellon balls
  • Sliced Kiwis
  • Anything else you find fresh

Directions:

Slice the strawberries into 3 or 4 pieces and place in bowl. Stir in the sugar and let stand for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator so they develop their own juice.

Slice the pound cake in 1/2 inch thick pieces and place one on each plate. Top with a scoop of the strawberries with their juice and a few of each of the other berries.

Top with whipped cream and place one blackberry on the top of the cream. Serves about 8.
