Jordan Marsh Blueberry Muffins

When Jordan Marsh had one store in Boston, it was always a treat to visit their lunch counter and have one of their blueberry muffins. Everyone thought the muffins were baked on premises, but I cannot attest to that. We would love to hear from someone who worked there to let us know. We’re just really curious.

In any case, they were delicious. You can find several recipes online for Jordan Marsh blueberry muffins, but from the ones that we have tried, this one seems to replicate that experience the best.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Cup butter
  • 1¼ Cup sugar plus a little more to sprinkle
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 Cup flour
  • 1/2 Teaspoon salt
  • 2 Teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 Cup milk
  • 1 Package frozen blueberries

Directions: Preheat oven to 350º F.

In one bowl cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time beating well. In another bowl mix dry ingredients. Then, add milk alternating with creamed mixture. Fold in blueberries. Fill paper lined cupcake tins to the top. Sprinkle with sugar.

Bake for 30 minutes. Then shut off oven. Keep the oven door cloosed and let muffins sit in the oven for approximately 15 minutes to brown.
