Pink Vodka Sauce

The recipe serves 2. We start with a cup and a half of our simple red sauce. It’s very easy to scale up or down. Just remember 1 cup sauce to 2 tablespoons of vodka, cream and water. This is great because you can cook the sauce in about the time it takes to cook dry pasta. In our picture we show fresh fettuccini served with a meatball.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Pound dry pasta or a 9 ounce package of fresh
  • 1½ Cups your favorite red sauce
  • 3 Tablespoons vodka
  • 3 Tablespoons 1/2 and 1/2
  • 3 Tablespoons water
  • 1/2 Small onion chopped
  • 1 Tablespoons butter
  • Chopped fresh basil for garnish.

Directions:

Cook pasta according to package directions. Sauté chopped onions in the butter 2-3 minutes until translucent. Add the vodka and cook for about 5 minutes to cook the alcohol out of it. Add the red sauce, cream and water and cook on medium heat for another 5 minutes. Serve over the pasta and garnish with fresh basil
