Tired of eating breakfast cereal full of sugar and who knows what else? The great thing about this granola is you will be full eating about 1/4th the amount you would a bowl of cereal and it will keep you satisfied until lunch.
Ingredients:
- 3 Cups rolled oats
- 1 Cup sliced almonds
- 1 cup cashews, or sunflower seeds, or whole almonds (choose what you like the best)
- 3/4 Cup shredded sweet coconut
- 6 Tbs brown sugar
- 6 Tbs real maple syrup
- 1/4 Cup light vegetable oil
- 1/2 Teaspoon salt
- 1 Cup either raisins or craisins or a mix of both.
Directions:
Preheat oven to 250º F.
In a large bowl combine the oats, nuts, coconut and brown sugar. In a separate bowl, combine the maple syrup, oil and salt. Pour into the oat mixture and mix till evenly coated. Pour onto two sheet pans. Cook for 1¼ hours, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from oven and add raisins or craisins and mix well.
To Serve:
A typical serving is about 1/4 cup. You can top your yogurt with it, or serve with a little milk like cereal in a bowl.
