This dish is perfect when you want to bring something nice to a party, especially in the summer when you can easily get fresh basil and grape tomatoes. But for this dish, it’s all about the presentation. Having a rectangle platter really makes this look great.
Ingredients:
- 1 Pint grape tomatoes
- 1 Pint container mozzarella balls
- 20 (plus or minus depending on size) fresh basil leaves
It’s nice to have all small leaves, but you can cut the large ones if that is what you have - White balsamic dressing or Balsamic glaze
- Frill picks
Add a grape tomato, basil leaf, mozzarella ball, another basil leaf and finish with another tomato. Stack neatly on a nice dish. If you have a round dish, line them up like the spokes onĀ wheel.
As far as dressing, I prefer a balsamic glaze. I like the contrast of the color on the salad plus the sweet taste of the glaze, but Mrs. The Net Gourmet prefers just a little white balsamic vinegar drizzled on top. “You taste it but cannot see it”.
How about half and half?
