Give Your Stews Some Pizzazz

Just about everyone likes beef, chicken, veal or any hearty stew, especially in the cooler weather. But they do get a little boring at times just eating them “like a stew” out of a bowl with a spoon.

This little trick will change the way you look at stews… and it’s as simple as pie.

What you need:

  • 1 Ready made pie crust out of your grocer’s dairy case
  • 1 6 cup muffin pan or 4  custard cups
  • 1 Cookie sheet

Unroll one sheet of pastry and cut it in 4 pie shaped pieces.

Place the muffin pan (or custard cups) upside down on the cookie sheet and spray with Pam.

Place each piece of pie crust over the top of the 4 corner muffin cups, pressing down with your hand to form bowls.

Bake in 350º F oven for about 15 minutes until golden brown.

Carefully remove pastry from pan, turn over on a plate and fill with your favorite stew.
